The West Haven Local System of Care Parent Support Group invites parents, grandparents, caregivers and friends of children with special needs to join them at parent support groups meetings held on the second monday of every month. The mission of this support group is to provide information and support to parents who have raised a child on the autism spectrum and are anticipating or working toward assisting him or her with the transitions to high school, college, adulthood and the appropriate level of maximum personal independence. Parents of younger children on the spectrum are welcome to attend. We are striving to create a community of caring parents that will locate or create the support these young adults need as they navigate adulthood. Plans for developing programs suitable for meeting the social and emotional needs of this age group will be discussed. PLEASE RSVP.

Angels Bridging Gaps is an Autism (ASD) Support Organization is based in Palm Bay, Florida. We are dedicated to educating parents about local resources, building community partnerships, in addition to creating social/recreation opportunities for our special needs community.

This group focuses on the well being of parents and caregivers of children with autism. The group is based on the principle that being the parent of a child on the autism spectrum requires new perspectives and that in order to provide the best for your child, you must provide the best for yourself. The group is interactive and focuses on teaching parents the tolls and experiences that refresh, honor and uplift them in a positive and nurturing environment. Plainfield support group for anyone raising a child/chidren with special needs. You don’t have to live in Plainfield, all are welcome. Meetings are a mix of speakers and networking.
This is an informal support group.

SNAPS (Special Needs and Parent Support) was created to help families with children who have disabilities. We are here to help each other with support, empowerment, education, acceptance and advocacy. Whether dealing with IEP’s, insurance, or therapies help is here. No religious affiliation with church, all denominations welcome. We have food, drinks, relax and have fun – you are not alone!

The mission of Success SEPTO is to work within local communities to encourage school districts, legislators and families to work together. The organization strives to understand, support and enhance education, and provide greater opportunities for children with special needs. The group serves Ashfield, Mansfield, Stafford, Tolland and Willington and other surrounding towns in Northeastern CT. All meetings are open to the public, new members and visitors always welcome.

Welcome to My World – Autism is a support group for families of children with autism. The group provides information on social/emotional issues and recreation needs for families. They meet monthly during the school year.
AIM is a special needs informational support group which helps families navigate the road ahead. They welcome all special needs families and specialize in ASD. AIM’s mission is to support parents in creating positive outcomes for families by getting involved. They connect with other support groups statewide so that they can utilize a more cohesive support network. They facilitate a resources library.
